Annual General Meeting

The Malta Weightlifting Association organised the annual general meeting.

The Malta Weightlifting Association recently held its annual general meeting, which was presided over by the association’s president, Jesmond Caruana. In his opening remarks, Caruana expressed his gratitude to all those who contributed to the association’s most successful year in its history. He made a special mention of Tenishia Thornton, who won the World Youth and European Youth Championships, the EU Cup, and the European Small Nations, as well as Kim Camilleri Lagana, who won the European Under 15 championship.

Matthew Camilleri, the association’s General Secretary, presented the annual report for 2022, which highlighted the achievements of the association and its athletes over the past year. This included notable performances at international competitions, as well as the association’s continued efforts to promote weightlifting in Malta.

Matthew Abela, the association’s Treasurer, presented the financial report for 2022, which outlined the association’s financial position and its plans for the coming year. The report showed that the association had managed its finances well and was in a strong position to continue its work in promoting weightlifting in Malta.

The meeting also included the presentation of the technical report for 2022, which outlined the association’s training and development programs, as well as its plans for the coming year. The association is committed to developing its athletes and coaches, as well as increasing participation in weightlifting at all levels.
