Five week training camp for Mifsud and Zammit

Tomorrow, two athletes from the Malta weightlifting Association, Yazmin Zammit Stevens and Kieran Mifsud will be travelling to Rome to train with the Italian National Team for 5 weeks in preparation for the upcoming senior European championships to be held in Split, Croatia. This competition is the first major international meet for weightlifting this year and it is to be held between the 1st and 9th of April. The Europeans are also a qualification event for the CWG2018, which makes the competition even more important for both Zammit Stevens and Mifsud, who are both in very good shape to qualify.

This training camp could not be possible without the help from the MOC, Sport Malta and the great friendship between the Italian and Maltese Federations.

Rodmar Pulis and Matthew Camilleri are participating in a high level weightlifting course organized by the European Federation from 2nd to 5th March in Kosice, Slovakia. The Malta Weightlifting Association is working very hard by investing in these types of seminars to produce more experienced coaches working on the field.
