Nicole Gatt participated in the youth weightlifting championships in Ciechanow Poland. She participated in the 53kg B group lifting 50kg Snatch and 67 kg C&J she missed her last attempt of 72kg with majority referee decision, 2 against 1 , finishing with the total of 117kg ahead of Hungary and Ukraine athletes. She was accompanied by her coach Mark Farrugia. Stephen Borg had the duty of technical controller in same competition.
This was a very important competition for her as these championships were a qualification event for the Youth Olympic Games taking place next August in Nanjing China.
