Tenishia Thornton makes it to top 10

15 year old Tenishia Thornton competed at the Senior European Championships is Moscow Russia. She competed in the 49kg category and finished with 70kg in the Snatch and 89kg in the clean and jerk. This was one of the most high level competitions since this was last chance for seniors athletes to Qualify for the Olympic Games. 

 
The 89kg Clean and Jerk was a 5kg improvement on her previous best in this weight class, while her 159kg total is a 4kg improvement on her previous best. She broke a total of 5 national records with all her clean and jerk attempts at 85kg, 87kg and 89kg, and with her two totals at 157kg and 159kg. 
 
She finished in first place in the 49kg B group, surpassing athletes from a Greece and Moldova. In the A group she lifted even more than Polish athlete. In the overall Tenishia finished in the top Ten of Europe despite she was the youngest athlete in Competition. 
 
Good to mention that Tenishia also set new records in the Commonwealth youths both in Snatch and Total. She moved up from Platinum level to  Diamond Level of the MWA rankings and she scored 489 Robi Points for her Olympic qualification.
