The European Union Cup was organised in Leon Spain. Tenisha Thornton, Kim Camilleri Lagana and Rylee Borg were the selected team to represent Malta in these championships. Coach Rodmar Pulis and Jesmond Caruana accompanied the athletes.
The Maltese athletes competed against Spain, France, Italy, Austria, Belgium, Poland, Ireland, Slovenia, Croatia, Hungary and Denmark.
Tenishia Thornton placed 1st with a total of 178kg and scoring 250 points
Rylee Borg placed 7th with a total of 222kg and scoring 288 points
Kim Camilleri Lagana 4th with a total of 116kg and scoring 206 points
Following to this competition the team will go for a week training camp in the Esercito Olympic center in Rome to continue the preparation for the European Youth Championships.
